Alexandra Olsen and Brooke Schelly, best friends and gastronomy enthusiasts, created the FeedMeQC Instagram page in June, 2016, as a way to showcase the Quad-Cities’s abundance of unique and local restaurants.

After noticing a lack of food Instagrams in the area, the food-loving friends dedicated their page to encouraging Quad Citizens to eat local and to share their experiences via #FeedMeQC.

Since its inception, FeedMeQC has organically and steadily grown to have more than 2,000 followers. The FeedMeQC blog is dedicated to expanding the exploration of local QC restaurants and to shining a spotlight on all that the area has to offer.

“If there is one question that I will never say ‘no’ it is, ‘do you want to grab a bite?’ The answer is always ‘yes.’ I will always want to grab a bite, especially with all of the amazing options we have in the Quad Cities.

Other than food, my passions include hiking, petting dogs, photography and writing.

I will be graduating in May from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in journalism and a focus in news and features. In the past year I have written for several media platforms including Travelingmom.com, Orbitz Worldwide, the Moline Dispatch and the Chicago Sun-Times.”

“Food has always been one of my favorite things. When we started FeedMeQC to share our love of local food with the Quad-Cities, I was thrilled to have an excuse to eat out more.

When I’m not enjoying a delicious meal and documenting everything along the way, I can be found Bootlegging at Circa 21 Dinner Playhouse in Rock Island and teaching theatre to youngsters at Davenport Junior theatre.

I graduated from St. Ambrose University in 2015 with a degree in Public Relations with a focus in Strategic Communications as well as a degree in Theatre and a minor in journalism.”
